The alpacas will soon be showcasing their presence with specially produced alpaca walking tours. Director of Portland Alpacas, Shawn Hume said: “We are very excited to be able to offer yet another great reason to come to Portland. This year, we’ll be going out with the alpacas, and we’re inviting others to join us”. Shawn continued; “Walking an alpaca on Portland will not only be fun, but it will help to promote good exercise for both the visitor and the alpacas on this rugged island. The alpacas are so friendly and love to meet new people. We’ll start at Fancy’s Farm and take a walk around various parts of Portland. Depending on the weather will determine which route we’ll use, but it’s hoped that each day, we’ll take-in a delicious cream tea or traditional afternoon tea with tempting cakes, thanks to the Heights hotel, which have welcomed the attraction.”
