Jerry in action Jerry Matthews, Head Chef at the Heights Hotel, welcomes you to sample his delicious lunch and dinner menus, packed full of local Dorset food.

Local man Jerry Matthews has been delighting diners at The Heights Hotel for over 20 years with his traditional yet original locally themed cuisine.

After qualifying at South Dorset College, Jerry moved away from Portland to commence his career, working in Norwich, Reading, Cheltenham Spa, Tewkesbury and Hull, before moving back down to Dorset to settle down back on the Island he loves.

Sticking to our policy of using local produce from excellent local suppliers for the majority of our food has assisted in us being awarded a GOLD GREEN TOURISM AWARD, of which we are very proud. We will also be involved in Dorset Food Week offering samples of our menu and special events for the week.

Dinner is a time to unwind and enjoy the amazing sunsets our Bistro can offer, combine this with a glass of wine or local beer and our wide variety of dishes available to you on the dinner menu and you are heading for a perfect evening.
