There
is a wealth of things to do, places to see and new experiences to try
when you make the Heights Hotel the base for your next holiday. If you
are feeling sporty we have a huge choice of both land and water based
activities on our doorstep. The Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy
is based just a 2 minute drive from us so it comes as no surprise we
are regarded as one of the best places in the UK for sailing, windsurfing
and kite surfing. Under the waves is catered for with some great diving
and even courses on free diving and spear fishing available. Land based
is well served too with one of the best climbing areas in the UK, great
mountain biking, horse riding and naturally being where we are, fishing.
If
you are looking for a slightly more relaxing time, you are again going
to be spoilt for choice. Museums, castles and country houses will keep
you busy or why not take advantage of taking a walk in amongst our World
Heritage Coastline? If you are lucky enough you may see a butterfly
that is unique to Portland, or perhaps a rare bird as we are in the
middle of a migration route for many unusual species. Portland is also
famed for its orchids with many species growing wild in the area.
