Festivals & events in Weymouth & Portland October 2010

Every wednesday throughout the month join our wildlife guide, Bob Ford, as he takes you on a walk around Portland. Each walk lasts approximately 90 minutes, covers a distance of 1 to 2 miles and sets of at 10:00 AM from the Hotel car park. Visit Bob's Dorset Walks website for a full itinary.

During the month of October, Bennetts Waters Gardens will be holding their annual plant sale. Ranging from as little as £1, plant in the sale will include aquatic marginals and water lilies, perennials, shrubs, trees and much more. Tel: 01305 785150

Octoberfest Beer Festival – Brewers Quay. Organised by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) this two day event is held inside Brewers Quay. Tickets will be on sale from September. Website: www.camrawdorset.org.uk (1st to 2nd)

Autumnwatch, bird ringing and migration - RSPB Radipole Lake Walks at 8am, 9am and 10am. The Beauty of Bearded Tits – RSPB Radipole Lake. 10 am-12 noon. How many people do you know have seen a bearded tit? One of the most beautiful birds in Britain and a real rarity too. It’s fantastic that these birds have chosen to live in the middle of Weymouth at our reserves, join us in search of these beauties. Free binocular hire available Booking essential. Wildlife Explorer Week - RSPB Radipole Lake and Arne
